ParentsWise is a parenting practice app that provides daily practice prompts, reflection tools, and AI coaching for parents. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.

Data We Collect

We collect only what is needed to deliver the app experience.

Account

Email address

Used to create and authenticate your account. We do not collect your name or any other identifying information.

Reflections & Sessions

Your written reflections and coaching conversations

The text you write in response to practice prompts, and the AI coaching responses generated in reply, are stored so you can review them in Session History. This is sensitive personal content and is treated accordingly.

Usage Data

Practice activity and parenting profile

We track which parenting domains you have practised, how frequently, and your session history. This powers personalisation — ensuring the practice prompts you receive reflect where you are in your development as a parent.

Family Profile

Your child's age group and family situation

If you share information about your child's age or any specific situations (such as ADHD, anxiety, or autism), this is used to tailor daily prompts and AI coaching responses. You can update or remove this information at any time in Account settings.

Preferences

Notification time and reminder settings

The daily reminder time you set during onboarding is stored to deliver practice prompts at your preferred time.

How We Use Your Data

Delivering the app: Your account, session history, and parenting profile are used to personalise your daily practice and track progress over time.
AI coaching: When you request coaching, your reflection text and a summary of your parenting profile are sent to our AI service to generate a response. This content is not used to train AI models.
Improving the experience: Aggregated, anonymised usage patterns may be used to improve the app. We do not sell individual data or use it for advertising.
Push notifications: If you grant permission, we send a daily practice reminder at your chosen time. You can disable this at any time in your device settings.

AI Coaching Feature

When you use the AI coaching feature, your messages and a parenting profile summary — derived from your in-app activity, such as your focus areas, family situation, and past reflections — are sent to Anthropic, PBC ("Anthropic") to generate coaching responses. Anthropic processes this data solely to fulfil the request and does not use API data to train its models. Data is not retained by Anthropic beyond the scope of each request. The first time you open a coaching session, the app will ask for your permission before sending any data. You can withdraw consent at any time by going to Account → Reset AI consent. This will cause the disclosure to reappear the next time you start a session. If you do not consent, the coaching feature will not be available.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the app. Each provides the same or equivalent protection of user data as described in this policy and as required by applicable guidelines.

Authentication & Database

Supabase

Stores your account credentials, session data, and parenting profile. Data is hosted on servers in the United States. supabase.com/privacy

AI Coaching

Anthropic

Processes your messages and parenting profile summary to generate AI coaching responses. Anthropic does not use API data to train its models, and data is not retained beyond each request. anthropic.com/privacy

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data — including all reflection text and session history — is permanently deleted within 30 days.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights including:

Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Deletion: Request that your account and all associated data be deleted.
Correction: Request that inaccurate data be corrected.
Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
Objection: Object to certain uses of your data.

Children's Privacy

ParentsWise is designed for parents and caregivers. The app is used by adults; it does not collect data directly from children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last updated.
